We have a broad repertoire of opera, dance and musical and are an important player in the development of the region. GöteborgsOperan AB is a community-owned company employing around 500 people per year. In total around 300 shows are staged every year for around 250,000 visitors on the Main Stage, the Small Stage and throughout the region. We have a turnover of around 380 million SEK of which around 30% is from our own resources. The Göteborg Opera is a diverse workplace with roughly the same number of male and female employees. The orchestra has 86 members.

The Göteborg Opera is looking for Principal Viola.

Audition round 1 is taking part through Youtube links up until August 15, 2021.

Recording quality at least 720p, Mpeg4. Each video is to be recorded in full body mode in one take, without cuts or adjustments.

2:nd and 3:rd round of the audition will take place at GöteborgsOperan, date TBA, according to Covid-19 restrictions.

Compulsory pieces 2:nd round:

• 1st movement Stamitz viola concerto, without cadenza
• One of the following viola concertos: Walton/Bartok/Hindemith 1st movement.
• Orchestra excerpts and ensemble audition. (PDF - PåOperan)
